The Sacramento Kings are helping to promote reading in the region.

The Kings are donating up to $100,000 from season-ticket deposits to support literacy programs around Sacramento.

Four separate organizations, including the Sacramento Public Library, are set to receive the funding.

Library officials say their chunk of the money will help fund over 1,600 reading programs this year that will reach some 65,000 children.
