Sacramento Kings big-man DeMarcus Cousins was officially signed today to a multi-year contract extension.

Four-time NBA All Star Shaquille O'Neal was in Sacramento last week, talking about how he is going to mentor the young center, who Shaq said reminds him of himself in his early 20s.

The Kings did not release the terms of Cousins' contract but it's believed to be a $62-million contract extension for four years.

Cousins was drafted out of Kentucky. The 6-foot-11 center, 270-pound center has a career averageof 16.3 points a game. During a news conference today, Cousins said he will donate $1 million of his salary to charity.
