Posted July 11th, 2014 @ 8:28am

The Harvard Gold Mine sits near Jamestown in Tuolumne County. But it's the 500-foot deep lake on the property that's getting attention, but the water is currently undrinkable.

The owner of the mine property says the water currently has some nitrates and sulfates in it.

He tells News10 that he is thinking about cleaning the water and making it available once there's a demand, but for now, at least, he's using pumps to spray excess water into the air where it evaporates. The pumps reportedly sending about 300 gallons of water a minute into the air as a fine mist.
