A light rail train was hit by gunfire last night.  

At about 10 p.m. Tuesday night an RT Light Rail Train, moving inbound, toward downtown, along the Gold Line between 23rd and 16th street stations was hit by gunfire.  

Initial reports say shots rang out somewhere near the 20th Street bridge where the Gold Line flies over the Blue Line and the Union Pacific train tracks.  

As many as four bullets hit one of the cars, reportedly carrying 15 people.

A window on the car was damaged and bullet holes were found in the car.  

No passengers were injured.  

Police from RT and the Sacramento Police Department immediately responded to the area and began searching for a suspect, but no one has been taken into custody.
