Sacramento area Muslims are the latest to pray for rain to end our drought.
The Sacramento Valley chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR, announced today local mosques will offer a prayer for rain Friday to help relieve the ongoing drought that is impacting area residents and agriculture.
Islam's Prophet Muhammad offered similar prayers during times of drought. People of other faiths are being encouraged to offer prayers for rain according to their own religious traditions.
Earlier this week, the Catholic Diocese announce they are asking their followers to pray for rain as well.
