With 40-percent of Sacramento's volunteers living outside the county, a successful volunteer center is expanding to include additional opportunities.
The Regional Center for Volunteerism is a one-stop resource connecting volunteers and the organizations that need them.
It makes it easier for volunteers to find opportunities and it's great for non-profits because they are able to post their needs on the site.
Community Link President Steve Heath says the center will also help in case of emergency. He says the online tool as well as the staff would be fully engaged in helping with a volunteer response to any possible disaster.
The new center serves Sacramento, Yolo, Placer, Nevada and El Dorado Counties.
