Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti left his car at home while heading into work today.
"I looked at it on Google, it was about an hour and fifteen minutes, I said let's do it. Let's get out there, have a great walk, see the city..." explained the mayor.
Garcetti and his wife walked roughly five miles to work as part of National Walk to Work Day.
The mayor says too often Los Angeles residents find themselves in a car or a bus and don't take the time to walk around and enjoy the city. H
e realizes not everyone can stroll to work five days a week, but says many people can find ways to add exercise into their daily commute.
