Executives from Major League soccer are reportedly coming to Sacramento as early as next month to check out the city as a potential location for an expansion team.

MLS Commissioner Mark Abbott says league officials would tour sites for a new stadium, among other things, according to The Sacramento Bee.

Representatives from the Republic FC and the Sacramento Kings will talk to MLS officials and express their interest in landing a spot in the league and provide some information on possible stadium locations.

The Kings ownership group is said to be in talks with Republic FC about possibly investing in the team.
