An immigration protest in Sacramento has one man facing criminal charges. Four activists staged a sit-in yesterday at the offices for the California State Sheriff's Association, where a man from Sonoma County was arrested.
The protest was in support of the proposed "Trust Act," which would prevent illegal immigrants from being deported unless they committed a serious crime. The Sheriff's Association is opposed to the idea. Illegal immigrants are often scared to report crimes because they worry they'll be deported.
