A late night stabbing in Sacramento has police looking for suspects responsible for taking a man's life.

A man in his 30s was out with family at a restaurant last night around 19th and Broadway streets, when police say a group of men walked in and sat down.

Officer Michele Gigante with the Sacramento Police Department says there was some sort of altercation, and when the man and his family walked out, an assault took place and that's when the man was stabbed.

Officers found the man lying in the roadway near the intersection. The suspects fled the scene.

"[He received] serious, life-threatening injuries. He was transported to the hospital," Gigante said.

The victim later died at UC Davis Medical Center.

Multiple family members and witnesses were interviewed at the scene, however police have not come out with a description of the suspects yet.

If anyone has any more information about this case, they're urged to call Sacramento Police at.
