Sacramento Police are investigating a shooting late last night that has left one man dead.

Police responded to reports of shots fired at Sitka and Mint Streets.

Lt. Shawn Rogers says the found one shooting victim -- a male in his 20s.

When authorities arrived on scene, they found the victim in a yard and tried to perform CPR. 

"Fire also responded, and pronounced the subject deceased there at the scene," Rogers said. 

A preliminary investigation found that after the victim left a family member's home,  he was chased through a complex by multiple unknown suspects and was confronted and shot.

Authorities are still looking for witnesses in the case.
