Michael Smith of Norridgewock, Maine, says he's never had a problem with his tattoo until yesterday.
Smith tells the Morning Sentinel that police armed with assault rifles descended on his home after the crew cutting down his trees woke him up and he ran outside and told them to leave.
The crew thought Smith had a gun. But the gun was actually a life-sized tattoo on his stomach.
When Smith isn't wearing a shirt, it looks like the gun is tucked into his waistband. He's not being charged.
