Massachusetts Governor Signs "Upskirt" Legislation

Massachusetts Governor Signs
Posted March 7th, 2014 @ 4:04pm by KFBK News

The governor of Massachusetts has signed a bill prohibiting "upskirt'' photos of women.  Friday's action comes two days after the state's highest court ruled that a man who took cellphone photos up the skirts of female subway passengers wasn't violating state law, because it only protected people who were nude or partially nude.

The court had said the law, as written, protects people from being photographed in dressing rooms and bathrooms when nude or partially nude, but it doesn't protect clothed people in public areas.

State lawmakers quickly changed the language to make it illegal to photograph the "sexual or other intimate parts'' of women or children in public.
