Air up those tires and grab your helmet, May is Bike Month in Sacramento.

Local cyclists, businesses and area governments have all come together to push pedal power in the 10th annual event.

There's a goal of logging two million miles through the 31st by biking to work, the grocery store, or even just for fun. Cyclists hit 1.8 million miles last year.

Organizers say they're trying to get more people out of their cars to help with air quality, reduce congestion during the Fix 50 project, and encourage healthy lifestyles.

Contests, classes and free events are being held all month long and you can log miles at the bike month website.
