Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson was one of several black mayors chosen by President Barack Obama today to promote the Affordable Care Act.
Johnson used his status as a former NBA player for 12 years to make the appeal.
"I was an NBA point guard for 12 years. I know a thing or two about assists. Right now it's time for us to assist one another and it could not be more important. So now that you know, make sure to tell someone. Visit healthcare.gov to get more information and to get covered today," he implored.
Mayor Johnson is urging Californians to look at his video at HealthCare.gov and explore your options and sign up for coverage.
The mayors of Philadelphia and Memphis were also included in the videos that are aimed at the black community.
