Military Suicide Rates Higher Than Previously Reported

The Defense Department says suicide rates in the military are actually higher than previously reported.

New calculations from 2006 until now, the military's actual suicide rate was at least one-percent higher than what had been reported.

The new figures show the suicide rate peaked among full-time soldiers in 2012 to 30 deaths per 100-thousand.

A record 164 soldiers committed suicide in 2012.
