A snowboarder who was missing for more than 24 hours was found Tuesday night.

Abraham Finkelstein, 25, of San Francisco was found safe by rescuers after getting lost in in the Castle Peak back country Monday.

Finkelstein and his father became separated Monday evening when stormy weather set in over the Tahoe National Forest. Nevada County Sheriff's Sgt. Justin Martin said the two were headed to a cabin near Donner Summit when they were separated.

Finkelstein was dressed for the elements and had his snowboard and associated gear with him when he was reported missing around 5 p.m., Martin said.

Martin said they got help from the Placer County Sheriff's Office, the Fresno County Sheriff's Office and other agencies in the search.
