Park it. Some of Sacramento's mobile food trucks could get a little less mobile.
The city is considering a new ordinance that would allow food trucks to become semi-permanent, instead of having to move on after 30 minutes in a single spot.
"This would be a private-property permit," said Brad Wasson, a revenue manager with the city of Sacramento.
Wasson says the trucks could form pods, and operate under a sort of co-op in select locations.
"It depends on the parcel size, but a half a dozen to a a dozen vendors can come and vend every day," he said.
The permits would be granted after hearings with nearby business owners.
Any changes would have to be adopted by the full city council and could come within the next couple of months.
