There's a slight uptick in Californians expected to take a trip this Fourth of July weekend.
AAA anticipates 4.6 million Californians traveling, a 1.5 percent increase from last year.
Spokeswoman Marie Montgomery says that may be due to July 4th landing on a Friday this year.
"People can make it a three-day weekend, they have the Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or they can take the whole week off, so there's some additional options that they might not have had last year with the Thursday," Montgomery said.
She says 3.7 million Californians will go by car, 545,000 by air and 400,000 by rail, bus, boat and other modes.
