There's another water bond being introduced at the State Capitol, and this one comes from Assemblyman Frank Bigelow and Assembly Republican Leader Connie Conway.
Conway says the legislature should have acted on this a while ago when there was a bipartisan push.
"Now we've waited too long. It does no good to say, 'We told you so.' We need to put our words into action," she said.
A good chunk of the nearly $8 billion bond would go to increasing water storage.
"Whoever needs the water, if we don't store it, we don't have it," Conway said.
Conway says she's not worried about competing bonds as along as they lead to conversation about one water bond everyone can get behind so that it can be presented on the November ballot.
