Natomas Suspect Shoots Self in Leg While Being Chased by Police
Posted Saturday, February 22nd 2014 @ 12pm  by KFBK News

The Sacramento Gang Enforcement team approached a group of 7 people in the Stonecreek drive area of Natomas Friday night when a gun fell from a pocket of one of the group members, and a second suspect took off on foot. Officers gave chase to 18-year-old Josiah Jones and heard a single gun shot while the suspect was out of view. Officers backed off and created a perimeter before eventually finding Jones, and the gun believed to be his, hidden off the trail. All 7 were transported back to headquarters, and while being questioned, officers noticed Jones shifting around uncomfortably, and eventually discovered a wound on his leg, presumably where he'd been struck accidentally when the gun went off while he was running. He was transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries. Two others were arrested on gun and parole charges.
