Whatever he's doing seems to be working. Republican gubernatorial candidate Neel Kashkari is closing in on rival Tim Donnelly with the primary elections less than two weeks away.
What was a narrow lead, now has become even more narrow, as a Public Policy Institute of California poll says Kashkari climbed to 10 percent support among likely voters.
Considering the fact that the PPIC had Donnelly leading Kashkari 10 percent to 2 percent in April, and the fact that there is a margin of error of nearly 5 percent, this poll gives puts Kashkari within striking distance of Donnelly at 15 percent.
However, neither Republican candidate is close to Democrat incumbent Governor Jerry Brown with 48 percent voter support in this new poll.
