Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy continues to defend his remarks about slavery, claiming Americans are "in some measure slaves of the federal government."

In an e-mail to news outlets, the 67-year-old rancher says his battle with the Bureau of Land Management over cattle grazing is no different from Rosa Parks' refusal to "sit in the back of the bus" over civil rights in 1955.

Bundy also asked forgiveness from those who may have been offended by his remarks that African-Americans, quote, "might be better off as slaves."
