Airport lounges used to be exclusive, a perk for the frequent flyer or club member. Sacramento International Airport plans to open a lounge, post security, in Terminal A for everyone.
Airport spokeswoman Laurie Slothower says the lounge would would have complementary food and beverages, newspapers and magazines, a TV, and would be open to the public, for a small fee.
"Kind of a quiet space to get your bearings while you're waiting for your flight to arrive or depart," she explained.
Slothower says the bidding process will begin in April with a final decision on a design by this summer.
"I encourage anyone...who is in business for what we're looking for to go to our website and look at the big proposal," she invited.
She says they're also planning to open two new retail stores and a concession stand in Terminal A.
