Neighbors living near a popular San Francisco park are still trying to understand a violent encounter between a man and police.
Witnesses say he was wearing a holstered gun and didn't appear threatening, but when police approached, he raised his weapon and pointed it at them.
People in the Bernal Heights Park then heard about a dozen shots. Police are not saying if the suspect fired his weapon.
The incident brought out protesters against police brutality, who eventually left the Hall of Justice and marched toward the Mission District.
