The woman attacked while opening a Sacramento area Subway on Tuesday morning is said to be recovering as well as can be expected.

While she's on the mend, authorities are working to solve the case.

The Sacramento Sheriff's Department is reviewing results of the woman's medical exams to see if they can submit DNA findings to the Crime Lab.

Detectives are also going through video from neighboring areas and monitored street cameras.

Sacramento Sheriff's Department Sgt. Lisa Bowman says they haven't yet been been able to determine exactly when the attack started.

"But once inside of the store, she was taken forcibly to the back of the store, where she was tied up, sexually assaulted and violently, brutally beaten," Bowman said.

Officials cannot confirm the incident is related to a series of rapes along the Madison/I-80 corridor.
