More than 350 citations have been written by Sacramento's water enforcement officers in the last week.

The city noticed a spike in water usage last Thursday and Friday - both are no watering days in Sacramento.

Enforcement officers shifted their patrol times to earlier, and later in the day, which led to the hundreds of first-time violation notices.

A second notice will cost you $50. After that, fines can jump to $200. Continue to break the city's watering rules, and you'll be hit with a $1000 fine for each subsequent violation.
