The search for the missing Malaysian airliner has already cost the Pentagon nearly three-million dollars with requests for even more.

Two U.S. spy planes are part of the hunt for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 and Malaysia's defense minister is asking for some Navy underwater surveillance equipment to get involved.

Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel is considering the request.

A Pentagon spokesman said about four-million-dollars has been set aside to cover operations through early next month.
