PG&E Expects To Face Criminal Charges Over 2010 San Bruno Blast
Posted Friday, March 28th 2014 @ 7am  by KFBK News - Mike Simpson

PG&E says it expects to face criminal charges in the San Bruno pipeline blast.

The utility has filed paperwork saying it expects that the federal government will levy those new charges related to the explosion that killed eight, injured dozens of others and destroyed thirty eight homes in the Bay Area community.

Though company officials say the charges aren't merited, they'll likely stem from violations in record keeping, threat management and overall pipeline integrity.

PG&E is already paying out $565 million in legal settlements and claims.  A federal report after the blast cited "baffling" mistakes and a "litany of failures" in pipleline oversight.
