A probabtion office in El Dorado County had to be evacuated today because of a piple bomb found.  The explosive device was found outside a county probation department office in Shingle Springs around 7am.  A makeshift fuse was attached to the device and deputies say the pipe bomb apparently didnt blow up because it malfunctioned.

The sheriff's bomb squad rendered the object safe and there were no injuries.  Lt. Tim Becker with El Dorado County Sheriff's Department says if you see any supicous items it's best to be safe and report it,

"We deal with this all the time though, and anytime somebody sees something and they don't know what it is and it does sound suspicious to treat it as if it is a dangerous device."

25 probabtion office employees had to be evacuated. The sheriff's department is investigating who might have made the device.
