A marine salvage company has recovered the fuselage of a plane and the body of its pilot, who crashed into San Francisco Bay over the weekend after a midair collision.

At least two news outlets showed the operation live online this afternoon, and the body of the pilot was clearly visible in the wreckage of the Cessna 210, which crashed on Sunday.

The NTSB said the midair collision occurred when the pilot of a vintage Hawker Sea Fury TMK 20 pulled up to the left side of his travelling companion flying the Cessna.

The Sea Fury's pilot said he saw the Cessna going down but did not see it crash.
