POLICE: Sacramento Home Invasion was Drug Deal Gone Bad
Posted February 18th, 2014 @ 7:14am

Turns out there were no innocent parties during a Sacramento home invasion Sunday night.

Three people were in a home on Crandall Avenue when a man came over to buy marijuana.

Officer Michele Gigante says the Sunday evening deal was disrupted when three armed men rushed into the residence demanding property, and the weed.

"One of the subjects actually tried to take a purse from one of the victims that was inside of the house. She struggled with that subject, and during that struggle, she was shot," Gigante said.

Gigante says by the time police arrived, the three robbers had run off with marijuana and money.

"The purse did remain at the scene," she said.

The woman was taken to an area hospital and treated for a non-life-threatening injury.

Officers are still trying to locate the three -- described as black and between the ages of 17 and 21.
