The Sacramento Police Department is asking for your help in identifying possible witnesses from a single car crash early on Saturday morning.

The car was reportedly speeding south on Howe Avenue when the driver lost control and struck a tree in the center divider just south of American River Drive.

Both people were thrown from the car and killed.

The police department is looking for a white taxi van, possibly a Toyota Sienna, which was one of the first on scene after the collision.

It and a dark sedan both stopped in the southbound lanes of Howe near the collision and tried to save the victims.

Investigators are looking to identify these cars because the drivers are crucial witnesses and the department wants to thank them for their efforts.

If you have any information that may help them, call Crime Alert at 916-443-HELP (4357).
