People taking part in a new survey say they're in favor of a variety of education initiatives in California.

This poll is from the Public Policy Institute of California. Responses from the people questioned suggest broad, bi-partisan backing of not only Common Core but also Pre-K and technical or vocational education.

"Seventy-three percent of Californians said that the state government should fund voluntary preschool programs for all 4-year-olds in California," Mark Baldassare with the PPIC said.

Baldassare says Democrats approved of the educational changes more than Republicans, however, overall Californians are very supportive of the changes that are going on in the classroom.

$250 million from last year's state budget was set aside to fund technical and vocational education in the state.
