The general election in November may be just a formality if you go by the results of a new poll on the governor's race.
We still don't have a second candidate in the controller's race, but the governor's race is very clear cut.
Democrat Governor Jerry Brown will, as you know, face off against Republican Neel Kashkari in November, but for voters in a new Field Poll, it's just as clear who will win this fall.
The poll shows Brown leading comfortably with support from 52 percent of the voters, while challenger Kashkari only has 32 percent support.
For Kashkari is seems to be a question of name recognition, since only 44 percent of voters surveyed are able to offer any kind of an opinion about him.
