A man in Pollock Pines called 9-11 Saturday afternoon and threatened to blow up his house.
When deputies arrived on the six-hundred block of Pony Express Trail, they heard an explosion.
The house was up in flames and the man who called police was detained.
He was taken to UC Davis Medical Center for injuries his sustained during the blast.
Srgt. Bryan Brown of El Dorado County spoke to News 10 saying 'There was pretty significant damage to the house. 'It burned for well over an hour. 'I understand there was a neighbor next door when the explosion hit - he was sitting on his couch and it actually forced him to his feet. 'No one else was hurt besides the one gentleman.'
