Pro Arena Signature Withdrawls Found Highly Invalid
Posted January 21st, 2014 @ 6:52pm by KFBK News - Zack Stein

Only about 10% of the forms turned in by pro-arena organization, downtownarena.org have turned out to be valid.

downtownarena.org hoped its "Petition Signature Withdrawal Forms" would cancel out enough signatures gathered by the STOP campaign and prevent voters from having a say in how the new downtown arena is funded.

Arena supporters turned in more than 14,000 signature withdrawal forms yet only 1,446 were certified by the county registrar's office as of Tuesday afternoon.

Meanwhile, more than 22,000 signatures gathered by STOP have been certified, meaning the arena funding question may indeed qualify for the June 3rd election.

The Sacramento City Clerk has the final say.  Jill LaVine, registrar of voters, provided KFBK with the below count tallies.
