Higher humidity and light rain are helping crews make some progress on two wildfires burning in Northern California that are just miles apart.
The Eiler Fire burning southeast of Burney has scorched more than 31,000 acres, but containment has grown to 35 percent.
Road closures and evacuations have been lifted in the area.
Firefighters were able to prevent the nearby Bald Fire from burning into Little Valley, so residents were allowed to return home yesterday afternoon.
That fire has burned almost 40,000 acres, and is now 30 percent contained.
