According to Pew Research Center, there are now more millennials in the work force than any other generation, taking up over a third of the professional world. With that, those in their 20s and 30s are changing the way they dress to give themselves the edge:
"I think it stems ultimately from perhaps the more competitive job market where first impressions are important and where before you know the college degree pretty much got you a job," Ryan Douglas-Hammonds of R. Douglas Custom Clothier said.
Douglas-Hammonds of R. Douglas Custom Clothier says their style of professional attire is changing as well:
"You found suits that were being worn five and six years ago that were a looser style and now you're finding suits and clothing being worn much slimmer to the body," Douglas-Hammonds said.
A LinkedIn survey found that over a third of millennials dress up to feel more professional at work, as compared to less than quarter of their older peers.
