California restaurant owners gathered in Sacramento today to learn how their businesses can be more energy and water efficient.
With the recent drought keeping conservation measures top-of-mind, it's easy for restaurant owners to cut back on water usage. One of the big ways is by checking maintenance and making sure there are no leaks.
June Livingston of the Business Environmental Resource Center says conservation while cleaning will also go a long way toward saving water.
Doing more sweeping not hosing out. Lingingston says another way would be to cut back on water usage on landscaping.
Livingston also promotes energy effeciency through the use of energy-efficent lighting and setting your water heater at an approriate temperature for the tasks required in your operation.
