Richmond May See Highest State Minimum Wage
Posted Wednesday, March 19th 2014 @ 6pm  by KFBK News

The city of Richmond may soon have the highest minimum wage in the state.

The city council moved forward Tuesday to raise the minimum wage to 12 dollars and 30 cents an hour by 2017.

If another council vote passes next month, the rate would go to nine dollars an hour and increase from there.

The council vote followed Mayor Gayle McLaughlin's rescission of an earlier plan to put it on the November ballot.
