Rocklin Teacher Accused in Teen Sexting Scandal
Posted December 23rd, 2013 @ 6:27pm by KFBK News

Rocklin Police today arrested a local high school teacher for innapropriately texting a 17 year old girl.  The Theatre Arts Teacher at Whitney High School is being charged with a felony count of unlawful contact with a minor for sexual purposes,

"This happened over a period of about a month, and this male teacher asking for either sex or naked photos of the female juvenile," said Captain Lou Milka.

He continued to say that 41-year old Richard Eldredge of Sacramento is now being held at the Placer County Jail on $100,000 bail.  Milka explained that his department was tipped off to the conduct by a different police department.

"We were given information from another police department.  It was reported through them through a mandated reporter, not associated with the high school."

Anyone curious as to whether Eldredge may have been sexting other students as well can likely put those thoughts to bed.

"We have no information that there are any other students involved.  We always like to be better safe than sorry and ask anybody if they have any information about other victims to notify us."

Whitney High School has placed Eldredge on administrative leave.
