The city of Roseville is continuing its unique and award-winning program "Operation Swim" this summer.

The program started in 2011 after a Roseville Parks and Recreation staff member noticed a lot of children were swimming in their clothes and dripping dry because they couldn't afford a swimsuit or towel.

Since 2011, Operation Swim has provided more than 300 children with swim lessons and over 680 children have received new swimsuits and towels.

Operation Swim won the California Park & Recreation Society "Award of Excellence" in 2013.
