SACRAMENTO --  Some 3,000 people will take part in a 5 and 10K "Run to Remember" race along Capitol Mall this Sunday, paying tribute to those who died in the September 11th terrorist attacks.

"When a runner completes the run, they're handed an American flag and they put it in this little peg that's next to a name plate of someone that lost their life," Captain Michelle Eidam with Sac Metro Fire said.

Eidam says a memorial will be set up depicting the Pentagon and World Trade Center. Entries are still available and proceeds go toward the widows and children of local first responders.
