Sacramento City Unified School District is asking for the community's help in keeping all 75 schools safe and secure during spring break -- from April 12 through the 20.

The school district is concerned about issues like vandalism, copper theft, and arson.

Two school playgrounds were damaged by arson fires last summer, costing the district $50,000 in insurance deductibles.

The school district says all schools will be locked and alarmed during the break - and security cameras will be monitored.

Residents can call Sacramento Police, or the Sacramento Sheriff's Department to report any suspicious activity.
