Sacramento County is going receive millions of dollars to work on jails, but a neighboring county is getting left out in the cold.
While the state is going to send $56 million to Sacramento County for jail expansion, Yolo County won't be getting any money.
The Sacramento Bee is reporting that Yolo County officials are considering an appeal of the decision which was announced Thursday.
In Stanislaus and Butte counties, they're not happy with the way a total of $500 million in state money is being allocated by the Board of State and Community Corrections.
County officials who little or nothing say they are unfairly being asked to house prisoners who should be state facilities. And they're doing it now without adequate funding.
