It's a first for the Sacramento area -- a choral festival this weekend will feature more than 1,000 voices.

It's  called Sac Sings, The Sacramento Choral Festival, and will feature a huge choice of musical styles.

"There's classical, jazz, pop, Broadway, barber shop, Americana, and they're mixed in each concert," Dick Frantzreb, the executive director of the Sacramento Valley Choral Coalition said.

Frantzreb says the opening show tonight is hosted by Dr. Donald Kendrick, the Founder and Director of the Sacramento Choral Society and Orchestra.

Shows run through the weekend at the Harris Center for the Performing Arts at Folsom Lake College and you can get tickets at sacsings.org.
