The Sacramento area saw some pretty healthy job growth last month.
The unemployment rate across our four-county area is down another 10th of a point to 8.1 percent, which mirrors the state's rate.
Eight of 12 major sectors showed improvement with more than 9,000 jobs added -- that's three times the average.
"March historically is a month that we normally see an increase in jobs. You know, 9,300 was our largest since 2002, so that definitely stood out," George Marley with the Employment Development Department said.
Marley says leisure and hospitality showed the most gains.
The region has added 16,000 jobs over the last year.
Employers across the state added nearly 12,000 jobs last month.
