Sacramento Could Get Millions for Flood Control

With Sacramento just a Senate vote away from getting millions of federal dollars for flood control, there's a difference of opinion on what that means.

If the spending bill is approved, Northern California Congresswoman Doris Matsui says it includes $72 million for levee improvements in Natomas and across Sacramento, plus upgrades to the Folsom Dam.

Matsui says she's not happy with a lack of funding in the bill for parts of the Affordable Care Act.

Her Republican counterpart, Tom McClintock, isn't pleased for a different reason.

"It continues the process of blowing the lid off the sequester, which was the only meaningful containment mechanism we had on runaway federal spending," McClintock said.

McClintock says the bill saddles our families with another $370 each in federal debt.
