For the third straight year, Sacramento is earning an "F" for small business friendliness.
The River City actually ranks dead last among 82 surveyed by Thumbtack.com, a nationwide service that links homeowners with contractors, carpet cleaners, handymen and dogwalkers.
Chief Economist Jon Lieber says Sacramento failed six of 10 different categories.
"Especially poorly in the ease of starting a business, which suggests a presence of what business owners think is unnecessary red tape, unnecessary hoops they have to get through," Lieber said.
He says there were responses from 126 local users.
The city faired better when it comes to "networking." Business groups are offering more courses on getting through regulations. Many of them stem from state government.
California also received an "F."
